The V.E Parade                                                                                                                                                                  Close A Military Parade along Nevsky Prospekts in St. Petersburg We arrived in St. Petersburg on the 9th May just in time to witness the Victory in Europe Day celebrations and parades.
It was a National Holiday and there were 3 days off for the public to celebrate the defeat of the Nazis in 1945. There were signs and
posters everywhere showing of the Hammer and Sickle and displaying 1941-1945. There was a real feeling on bonhomie in the air
and whilst watching this parade several locals asked after our nationality and once identified as British proceded to heartily thank us
and shout "Churchill" very loudly!!!
